Jellyfish Digestion
Jellyfish tentacle are covered with stinging capsules that capture and kill prey. The prey is moved to the mouth by these same tentacles and into the coelenteron, a single-cavity which serves as the jellyfish's stomach and intestines. There enzymes digest food and direct any nutrients through the jellyfish's body. The one orifice which takes in the food is also the only outlet for the expulsion of waste.
