Sea Anemone Digestion
Sea anemones used stinging tentacles that surround their mouth to sting and inject a paralyzing poison into their prey. The prey is moved to the mouth where it is consumed whole because it cannot chew. Once in the sea anemone's central cavity, food is digested with enzymes and any necessary nutrients are absorbed. Any parts that the sea anemone can't digest are expelled out the same hole where the food went in.
